On the 21st we drove to SoCal for some long awaited days of fun. The drive was bittersweet, I fought some tears while I thought of our sweet Conner, who left us six years ago. A lot of people remembered him on Facebook and it both made me smile and cry. Amazing how one short little life could touch so many others. How I love my brave baby.
After a good night sleep we drove to Carlsbad to visit Legoland for the first time. It’s a nice park, with some fun rides and Dallas was right in his element with so many Legos! I noticed how it needs to be better maintained, the big buildings and animals that are sitting out in the open are dirty and discolored, so that was a bit disappointing. We still had a good time.
They had several stations all over the place where kids could build whatever they wanted. One for the Hero Factory series, other to build cars and you could race your creation down a ramp, etc. I’ve never seen so many Legos in one place, haha!

The following day was Disney California Adventure day. We heard great things about the new Cars Land, but we were amazed at how awesome it is. It truly felt like we were walking inside the movie, haha!

Wreck-It-Ralph was so cute, and Venelope was right next to him but she had to go “race” for a while! I love how the Cast Members get into the whole Disney experience, the guy at the tent where they check your bag saw I had an apple and asked me: ‘that’s not a poisoned apple, is it?’
Dallas got picked at the Jedi Training show, the kid had this huge grin on his face and so did we! I recorded his ‘battle’ against Darth Vader and he just loved the whole thing. While we were waiting for the Christmas parade to start I rode Space Mountain a couple of times and I even got a celebrity sighting out of the trip, I saw Nicholas Cage leave a ride. This was the next day, at Disneyland, where we spent Christmas Eve. Cinderella’s castle was beautiful all lit up for the holidays and the parade was great. It rained quite a bit, but we didn’t mind, we had such a great time!!

What a fun trip. Last time we were there we wanted to go to Legland but didn’t make it, so awesome you guys went. I bet Dallas loved everything and has such wonderful memories of the trip! I too cannot believe another year has passed since Connor left your side, this last year just flew by, sorry sweetie.

Love you, Tami. What a fun family trip. I will remember to call Dallas “Young Padowan” next time I see him. Jake showed me that picture on facebook and it melted our hearts. Hope to see you soon, sis.
