Playing catch up

Okay, Here are some photos to tell you what the Alvords have been up to.

He was a Transformer for Halloween. His class had a little parade for the rest of the classes. He got a lot of compliments on his costume, which Ben made! We went to the mall and around the neighborhood later that night.

We visited the Steinbeck Museum in Salinas, they even had a treasure hunt for kids. Its a great place with tons of information on that great author. We had lunch nearby and then we headed to a Christmas tree farm to cut our tree. Sorry this picture is not good at all.

This is Dallas’ first school picture. I can’t believe how grown he looks in it! They also gave him an ID card which he refers to as his ‘credit card’ :)

This is at Dave and Holly’s holiday party that we went to last weekend. It was great to catch up with them, we met Dave when we first moved to California and we also attended their wedding this summer.

That’s about it for now, we’ve been working on our little Christmas traditions and having a nice time. Also, this coming Wednesday is a very special day for our family and I’ll blog about it as well. Merry Christmas everyone!

Changes

Changes are something I welcome. It takes some time to get used to, but change is always good. For instance, I’m writing this from North eastern Wyoming. They needed someone to do cleanup in the apartments Ben is building so here I am. I work a few hours a day, I get to bring Dallas with me, I get to take him back to the house where we’re staying for a nap and we’re with Ben! Oh, right, and I get paid. So, it’s win-win all over, right? It is, but like I said, change takes some time to get used to. It’s a small town, we live in a house that doesn’t belong to us and there’s a few people from the crew living here too. But it’s only for 3 more weeks. They’ll go by fast. They better.

Another huge change is we got an offer on the house!! It’s been on the market for almost 3 months and we’re hoping that they’ll accept our counteroffer. If they do, by this time next month we’ll be on our way to California. I don’t want to get my hopes up, this is a very unstable housing market and who knows what’ll happen next week, but I can’t help to feel a little excited about this.

Monday my little man turns 2. It’s incredible how fast time has gone. He’s doing great, eating and climbing and being such a great kid. He adapts to anywhere we take him, as long as we bring his Blankie with us! 

And finally, I need to make some changes whithin me. But that’s OK. Change is good.

Here goes nothing…

So this is my first post for my new blog here at WordPress. I suppose you’d like an intro, right? My name is Tami, I’m married and have 2 boys. I was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina and moved to the US and A in November of 2000. We live in Utah but we very much would like to sell the house we currently own (good luck with that and more on it later) and move to California.

I had another blog that I had to shut down for personal reasons, I hope that I won’t have to do the same with this one. I like the password protection for certain posts and I’ll be using that fairly often.

What looked good on paper, you ask? Well, LIFE looked good on paper. And then  I realized that it was nothing like I imagined it would be. Sure, they tell you that marriage is hard, that you gotta work on it, that if your kid gets sick it only happens to very few people, NOT YOU! etc., etc. That was not the case for me and my family. You’ll find out soon.

I also plan to talk about things I buy and I really like, give a little review of sorts. I like to take pictures of lots of things and I like to read lots of books and interesting things in the Internet. I’ll talk about those also. I’m going to have a section I’ll call: “You know what grinds my gears?” (Family Guy fans out there?) and in it I’ll talk about things that annoy me, things that I don’t like/appreciate. It’ll be my little venting post.

So, this is my little blog. Read it. Or don’t.
